GNX by Kendrick Lamar
Quickie Review
KENDRICK DROPPED WE BACK
After months of absence from this site and the music world I have made my promised return, the way the lord intended..
Introduction
Fair warning, I've never listend to 2pac before, I say this because I know this album is heavily inspired by his discography. I've also only listend to DAMN by Kenny, so I'm unfamiliar with most of Kenny's discography too.
With that out the way, HOLY SHIT THIS IS A BANGER. This album gave me everything I wanted more of after listening to DAMN and more. Kendrick is calling the industry out, all the evil in this world and rapping about religion and politics. He's truly having fun here, and I enjoy it. I'm extremely glad we got the full song that was teased in the "Not Like Us" MV. I genuinely have no problem with this album. The writing, the flow, the pacing, the lyrical depth, the production, the features, everything is amazing. It's a contendor for my AOTY. HIT ME HARD AND SOFT (Billie Eilish), Dark Times (Vince Staples), and GNX are amazing albums, but I think this one might just be my number one. I'll continue looping the album over the next month to see how I feel about my New Years. I'll let y'all know how I feel.
I apologize for the long break I took, my mental health has been awful this year and I've been struggling with everything. I love y'all
